why we connect to God
As Christ-followers, connecting to God is the most important thing we can do each day. It is in God’s presence that we are changed into more loving, thoughtful, caring people—becoming more like Jesus. God is love so spending time with him helps us learn to live our lives in a way that shows his love to others. Basically, as we spend time with God, his “goodness” kind of rubs off a little on us and spills out into the world through our words and actions.
how we connect to God
Although we try our best to spend time connecting to God in various ways every day, we set aside Sunday mornings to come together as a church family to worship and connect to God together. We meet Sunday mornings from 10:30am to 11:40am at Double Diamond Elementary [directions]. After a week of working, parenting, studying for class and filling up on information from the TV, mp3 players and the Web, the Sunday Worship Gathering is where we go for peace, rest, and perspective.
what to expect on sunday
During our worship gatherings, we typically pray, sing, and learn from the Bible, exactly what Christ-followers have done throughout the centuries. We are a casual, relaxed and friendly group of people who are far from perfect and don’t expect you to be either. Just come as you are. We hope that, at Coram Deo, you will find a place that makes it easier for you to connect with God.
If you’ve got young children, they can also find a place that makes it easier for them to connect with God on a level that is meaningful to them. Our Children’s Ministry provides a safe, loving environment where they, too, can find peace, rest and perspective.
all-worship service
At Coram Deo we occasionally devote an entire service solely to telling God how much we love him and are thankful for what he has done for us. During these gatherings we might express our worship by singing, praying, reading from the Bible or in some other way but the focus is on praising God for who he is.
family service
The last Sunday of each month will be a family service where the children join the adults in the worship gathering. Having kids in the worship gathering may not always be easy but we believe it is an important part of the spiritual growth of the entire church family. We could all learn a thing or two seeing life through the eyes of a child.
